The Salvation of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God who is known as Yeshua or Jesus, predated our creation. Therefore, we are not saved by our works since God predestined mankind for salvation as a gift before we gained knowledge of good and evil to die.

in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before times eternal;
Salvation is free! However, we must believe, repent, get baptized, live holy every day, and confess that Jesus is YAHWEH by name to claim salvation!
As you might understand, the existence of the law is, besides its other roles, to void our salvation if we do not obey it
Romans 2:12-13 ASV
(12) For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without the law: and as many as have sinned under the law shall be judged by the law;
(13) for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified:
What is “not saved by works but by faith? Is it, as the Adversary claims, not keeping the commandments of the Law because of grace and faith? God forbid!
Galatians 2:16 ASV
(16) yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
